The band in brief . . .

As you will have gathered from our main page, we are a group of local musicians from the south-west of Northern Ireland who meet weekly in Enniskillen. We are the only concert band in the county but the region is well-known for having lots of bands of all kinds.

We are a fully independent group with committee members elected from among our players to look after the band's business. Our members include adults and students from all walks of life so our age-range covers many decades!

We are very proudly cross-community.

The band practises weekly on Thursday nights, from 7.30 - 9.15. If you would like to join us and plan a wind or brass instrument or are a percussionist, please email us, we would love to hear from you!

Meet Our Patrons ! John Wallace (top) and Sir James Galway (bottom)

John Wallace is Principal of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Before this he was principal trumpet with the Philharmonia Orchestra for two decades. Both as a soloist and as leader of his own brass ensemble 'The Wallace Collection' he has toured and recorded extensively.

Sir James Galway played the penny whistle as a child in Belfast before switching to the flute. Principal's positions with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra preceded his career as a soloist. His recordings have won him many awards and in 2001 he was knighted for his services to music.

So where do we play ?

Briefly, wherever we're invited! In recent times this has included Enniskillen, Kesh, Irvinestown, Florencecourt, Necarne, Lisnaskea . . . we've also played in Sligo, Belfast, Holywood, Ballycastle, Ardee and for many clients such as councils, voluntary bodies, the Circuit of Ireland, The National Trust, Queen's University, The Hawks Well and Ardhowen Theatres, to name but some
