· Do you play a wind, reed or brass instrument and you’d love to join a band – but you’re a bit nervous about actually doing it?
· Did you play but haven’t had the instrument out of its case for years
· Have you not played since because you don’t have an instrument
· You’ve taken up a new instrument and you’re still new to it
· You haven’t been playing very long or think you’re not good enough
· You didn’t start until you were an adult and feel a bit shy about joining a band
· You’re not sure you’re ready to play in public
Well the good news is, The Elastic Band has been set up for people just like you.
It goes ‘band in hand’ with Fermanagh Concert Band and is for anyone who’s not quite ready yet for membership of the main ensemble so when you are ready to move to Fermanagh Concert Band – simple!
The Elastic Band will be starting up with a special, informal ‘drop-in’ session on Saturday 26 November in the Navar Room at the Lakeland Forum. If you want to find out more, all you need to do is drop in there at any time between 10am and 2pm, and bring your instrument with you. You’ll be able to meet the tutors, some members of Fermanagh Concert Band and have a look at some of the music you’ll be playing, talk things over and generally get a feel for things!
